    Muddy Buddy 11/1/09
Not fun or a very good idea if you pulled an all nighter the night before and have been partying for Halloween the past three nights in a row. Ick. Regardless of what Muddy Buddy markedly claims, it is NOT a course for beginners on bikes, like myself, who recently learned how to ride a month or two ago. There were many inclines and declines, which were not only steep, but incredibly rocky! Inexperienced bikers beware!

Don't get me wrong--this whole shabang (run, bike, obstacle, and mud race) is very cool, but it is a definite must train! If you can bike on hiking trails, then you can surely survive and excel this course. You and your partner must alternate the bike and run parts. However, if you go first, as myself, you get the more difficult part of the two, which includes more incline and biking. Thank goodness there were many water stations whenever we switched bikes at the obstacle courses--of which were cake compared to the biking!

My partner and I as Team Naepookums (our ghetto Black names "Pookie" & "Nae Nae" combined) finished 35/38 in our female age division at 1:41:46. Pretty darn shabby, I know! But hey, we had fun together, which is all that matters. =P

    Nike 10K Run 10/25/09
Funnest run I have done by far. Filled with mostly a high school, collegiate, and young professionals kind of crowd. Run started at midnight, so that added to the cool factor. Hehe. I was definitely lovin' the red orange dry-fit Nike shirts we got to sport during the run. Many of my good friends came out to run, including the BFF, so it made this run even better. Can't wait for next year!

    Evaluation:
Took me 62 minutes to run the 6.3 miles, so that equates to just a hair under 10 minutes per mile. Not too shabby considering I haven't consistently trained for over a month. I guess I'm happy with the results, but I am definitely pushing under an hour on my next 10K. Throughout the course of the run, I kept a consistant pace, and was able to throw in random sprint bursts. For the first time ever, I was passing people! Totally fun run with live bands, music groups, and hoards of people alongside cheering for runners. Thank goodness for the water stands! Total life savior.

The BFF and I...frequenting the porta potties one too many times pre-run. Just too nervous!

Please excuse me, I'm not thinking clear
    It must just be stress
But I likely shouldn't be here
    I'm such a mess

I never really ever know what to say
When all of my emotions get in the way
I'm just trying to get us on the same page
I always get it better right afterwards
When all the wrong impressions are said and heard
How come I can never get the right words?
I need to convey, Wish I could explain

The things that I have to work out
    I don't feel right
What has come over me, I'm about to lose my mind

I never really ever know what to say
When all of my emotions get in the way
I'm just trying to get us on the same page
I always get it better right afterwards
When all the wrong impressions are said and heard
How come I can never get the right words?
I need to convey, Wish I could explain

Can I let the trees do the talking?
Can I let the ground do the walking?
Can I let the sky fill what missing?
And can I let my mouth do the listening?
    The listening

I never really ever know what to say
When all of my emotions get in the way
I'm just trying to get us on the same page
I always get it better right afterwards
When all the wrong impressions are said and heard
How come I can never get the right words?
I need to convey, Wish I could explain what I mean to say
